All-new 2023 Honda ZR-V e-HEV ⚡ 2.0 Hybrid SUV, Best Family SUV renewed

Honda has revealed its all-new 2023 Honda ZR-V e:HEV at the brand’s European Media Event in Offenbach, Germany.

The ZR-V won’t be available as a pure Electric Vehicle instead, it will feature a recalibrated version of the Civic’s e:HEV powertrain.

This mixes an Atkinson-cycle 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a pair of electric motors and an automatic gearbox. Honda hasn’t confirmed power outputs but based on the ZR-V’s stats in other regions where it has already been released, we’d expect it to match the Civic’s 181 hp (135 kW) and 315 Nm (232 pound-feet) of torque, transmitted to the front axle. In Japan, you can get the electrified ZR-V with all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Honda ZR-V e:HEV will be available in Europe from autumn 2023. Pricing will be announced at a later date, although chances are it will be more expensive than both the smaller HR-V and the mechanically-related but low-slung Civic hatchback.
