2023 Porsche Mission X Concept ⚡A Hint of the Future Electric Hypercar

Porsche has officially premiered its new Mission X concept which aims to be the fastest and most capable road-legal electric hypercar in the world.

Aspiring to be the fastest road-legal vehicle around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, it is intended to have a power-to-weight ratio of roughly 1 hp per 2.2 lbs (1 kg), surpassing the downforce delivered by the current 911 GT3 RS.

Additionally, its 900-volt system architecture aims to charge roughly twice as fast as the Taycan Turbo S, which Porsche says can go from 5 to 80 percent in just over 20 minutes

The centrally installed battery accentuates the car's agility, maintaining the excellent balance characteristic of a conventionally powered mid-engine vehicle.

Porsche says that if it brings the Mission X to production, it will aim to make it the fastest production car to lap the Nurburgring, beating the record held by Mercedes-AMG One.

This isn’t the first time Porsche has used the ‘Mission’ name for a concept. The 2015 Mission E concept car laid the ground for the Taycan and in 2021 we saw what the firm could achieve with a racing electric car in the shape of the Mission R.

However, we don’t expect a production version of the Mission X for a while. The next pure-electric Porsches will be the Macan EV in 2024 and then the Cayman EV but you can take this concept as confirmation that something very special is in the works.
