5 Simple Ways to Increase Online Sales

This video gives 5 simple methods you can employ to boost your online sales.

These tips aren’t a “get rich quick” scheme or anything like that, but WILL work really well when it comes to boosting your bottom line.

For some businesses, adding just an extra 5-10% in revenue could equal a LOT of money, and that’s what these recommendations are designed to do.

All of these are aimed at bumping revenue up a few percentage points.

You might be using some of these (or all of these already), but if you’re not, try some out and test your results.
1. Utilizing a Cart Abandonment Email Series

For whatever reason, sometimes people get all the way to checkout… then just don’t buy. If this happens, you can tag that person using a Facebook Pixel or your Google Analytics Tag Manager, and then send them a Cart Abandonment Email Series in order to try and get the purchase. This CAES includes an incentive, some scarcity to induce action, and a reminder.
2. Setting up a “Related Products” Section on Your Checkout Page

Amazon does this amazingly well. When you’re browsing a product page (and at checkout), they’ll show you products related to the one you’re looking at. Looking at a hammer? They’ll show you nails. Looking at guitar picks? They’ll show you guitar strings. This reminds the customer of OTHER accessories/products they might need that compliment the one they’re looking at, and can increase your bottom dollar when they buy it.
3. Adding One-Click Upsells or One-Time Offer Pages Before Checkout

This is related to #2, but if a customer clicks the checkout button, you can insert a One-Click Upsell or a One-Time Offer right before their credit card information. A car fob company I work with does this; the customer adds a key fob to their cart, and when they go to checkout, they’re prevented with a $6.95 upsell for a lifetime replacement warranty for that key. People would be silly not to take the offer, and it increases a lot of their average-purchase-revenue by $7.
4.Adding an Exit-Intent Popup
Normally I don’t recommend adding a ton of popups to your site, but this is more your last-resort option. I’ve used an exit-intent popup to increase signups for my mailing list by about 1-1.5%. Again, not a staggering amount, but those signups add up, and might lead to more buyers.
5. Placing a Testimonial Right Before the Buy Button
People buy based off emotion, and then justify that purchase later with logic. So when they’re teetering on the edge of a Shakesperian decision (“to buy or not to buy”), sometimes having that social proof- that smiling, 3rd-party, non-affiliated face there saying, “I did it, and it was worth it!” can bring them into buyerhood.
