VW ID.4: will it steal the Model Y's limelight?

So, here it is. Finally. The Volkswagen ID.4. It's the company's second mass-produced electric car, following the arrival of the Model 3-rivalling ID.3 last year, and the company's first all-electric SUV.
In terms of size it sits snugly between the company's T-Roc and Tiguan. So, yes, that would make it the equivalent of an electric Golf on stilts.
Plus, with prices expected to start in the UK at just shy of £45,000 (we know First Edition models will cost €49,950 in Germany), it'll be a close rival to the Tesla Model Y. True, we don't know how much the Y will cost in the UK either, but it's about the same size as the ID.4 and should deliver a similar range.
Nope, this isn't a direct comparison, but we thought we'd see how the key numbers compare.
