Critical Race Theory and the Goal of Colorblindness: A Conversation

Hosted on October 27, 2021, and moderated by Dr. Michael Gomez, Critical Race Theory and the Goal Of Colorblindness: A Conversation, featured Conor Friedersdorf and Khiara Bridges, J.D., as panelists. The panelists presented on the ideological foundations of aspirational colorblindness and Critical Race Theory (CRT). Centering the diverse uses to which these frameworks are put to address structural and systemic racism in law and policy, they also explored and debated their various limitations. Though departing on issues of retrenchment and the politics of racial identity, the panelists ultimately agreed that racism persists in the contemporary moment. They concluded by speculating on the future of these approaches.
