Peta Credlin labels Labor’s pre-budget ‘judicious leaks’ as ‘anything but clear’
Sky News host Peta Credlin has labelled the Albanese government’s pre-budget message as “anything but clear” as they try to shape the reception of it with “judicious leaks beforehand”.
“One of the oldest tricks in the political book is to try and shape the reception of the budget by judicious leaks beforehand,” Ms Credlin said.
“For this to work, though, there's got to be a clear message, and the Albanese government's pre-budget leaks are anything but clear.
“To the markets, the government is saying that it will be a budget of restraint that will complement the work of the Reserve Bank to rein-back inflation.
“To voters, though, the message is cost of living relief because that's clearly the number one issue for the Australian people.”
