Qld public transport hasn’t recovered ‘anywhere near’ pre-pandemic levels

Queensland Premier Steven Miles says public transport usage in the state hasn’t recovered “anywhere near” pre-COVID levels.

The Premier is recommending people take advantage of his cheaper public transport fares plan.

Costs are set to be reduced to a flat rate of 50 cents from August 5.

“We hope that this will take it back to there,” Mr Miles said.

“We have amongst the lowest public transport usage of the capital cities and we want to see that change with these 50c fares.”
