Non-K OC Intel i3 12300 Overclocked to 6.05GHz on LN2 - New Quad Core Records on EVGA Z690 DARK KP

As Intel tries to limit overclocking of their non-K CPU models, many users are enjoying these SKUs to their full extent by overclocking them on LGA1700 motherboards featuring an external clock generator. As this particular Core i3 12300 seemed pretty impressive on water cooling not that long ago, I wanted to test it briefly on LN2 after my extensive benching for the Corsair DDR5 Invitational Overclocking competition so I have a lot of recent knowledge and experience of the platform and especially memory overclocking.

The CPU was very tricky to run on LN2. The frequency scaling goes very bad after like -80 celcius, so after that colder temperatures give quite mild gains, if any at all. And posting and booting very high baseclock speeds is quite difficult and you should use slow mode to avoid annoying hangs and crashes when booting.

I managed to break the record score in all of the important benchmarks on HWBOT. Cinebench R20, Geekbench 3 Multi Core, X265 4K and y-cruncher 1B, all were accomplished at around 6GHz. Only test I'm missing is GPUPI 1B for CPU, as that is still dominated by the Cezanne Ryzen 3 5300G. Y-cruncher needs AVX512 and not all of these CPUs have it. Only the very oldest chips feature it.

Sadly the IMC is quite limited on these locked CPUs and especially on LN2, my max was somewhere around 6800-7100, so I used 6800-6850 CL27-37-37-28 1T with these G.SKill Trident Z5 6400 CL32 sticks that are amazing.
