7GHz Wolfdale E8600 - We Got it FIRST

After my trip to Taiwan for Computex 2023 and the G.Skill OC World Cup a short while ago, I decided to test some of my remaining E8600 CPUs with the last 25 liters of LN2 I still had. The first CPUs I tested weren't good enough, most did at least 6.7GHz but that is obviously not good enough anymore, as we are looking for CPUs that can do at least 6.8 in actual benchmarks.

So after a while I decided to go back to my very best one and try Super PI 32M again with North Bridge on LN2 as well. I already had bad experiences regarding cold temperatures on the NB, as it usually makes the memory very unstable. It was the case this time as well, and the attempts didn't really have any success. So I decided to try the 7GHz validation very quickly again with the last few liters of LN2 I still had available. To my surprise, I got the 7GHz validation twice, first at 6999MHz as I hit the F7 button the wrong moment, but second attempt actually made it and I could stand on the desktop for a few seconds with CPU-z showing 7000MHz for the CPU.

This is a huge milestone and something many LGA775 overclockers have long dreamed about since 2008. I am fully sure the unreleased Core 2 Duo E8700 wouldn't do any better, as these aren't usually FSB limited.
