EVGA BIOS Update USB Stick Issues - Flashing Corrupted BIOS on Z790 DARK KINGPIN

Many people have noticed how picky the latest EVGA motherboards are for the USB stick being used for the onboard BIOS Update function. For me, I had the best success with more old USB2.0 sticks, and on the video I use an old Transcend Jetflash 310 16GB stick to recover a corrupted BIOS on my EVGA Z790 DARK KINGPIN. A correction on the model I said on the video, the model was 310 not 360 but I'm pretty sure both would work.

If the motherboard rejects the USB stick you wish to use, or if the BIOS file is named incorrectly, the debug LED will usually show an error code of E1 or E4. The USB stick must be formatted to FAT32 format so it has to be completely empty, and the BIOS file must be named correctly corresponding the motherboard you are using. Z690 DARK KINGPIN for example is E699 as the real model number, so the BIOS file has to be named "EVGAE699.BIN". Same thing on the Z790 DARK KP as well, the BIOS file has to be named EVGAE799.BIN.

Try to use an old USB2.0 stick if you face some of the issues I mentioned. In any case I think you can still find this particular model from nearby PC or hardware related stores.
