The Birth of Stone | A Home Birth to a Hospital Birth

Baby Stone came years after his older brother, who's birth was quick. So this mama didn't expect a long labor. But birth has weird ways of teaching us lessons. This birth was no different. Mama reached full dilation really quickly, but after hours of pushing, there were some questions about his heart tones. It was decided that a hospital transfer was the best decision. Once there though, Baby Stone came fast and as soon as he was born, we knew why pushing took a bit longer. He was posterior (sunny side up) and asynclitic (head tilted to the side) so the circumference of his head was a lot larger than had he been facing towards Mom's back. But in the end, both Mom and baby were healthy and comfortable.
