Tina Turner, Corey Hart & Luba in 1985 on Good Rockin Tonite

In 1985 one of the best recording artists of all time Tina Turner talked about her life and career with host Terry David Mulligan for the CBC Vancouver TV series GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE. Her successful career began in 1960 with the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. She married Ike in 1962 but severe domestic abuses against her by Ike led to their divorce. In the 1980s she made a sensational worldwide comeback with her LP “Private Dancer” and single “What’s Love Got to Do With It” winning 4 Grammies, and that continued throughout the ‘80s and 90s’ with multi-platinum albums and hit singles. She acted in the 1975 rock musical “Tommy” followed in 1985 by “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.” Following Tina, TDM had a phone conversation with Canadian superstar Corey Hart (“Sunglasses at Night,” “Never Surrender.”) “In retrospect, I was totally unprepared for the fan adulation. The transformation from unknown artist to rock star was surreal and overwhelming.” TDM’s next interview, also from Montreal, was extremely shy Luba, Canadian music industry Juno Award winner for Female Vocalist of the Year for 3 years. Her hits include “Every Time I See Your Picture” and “Let It Go.” All videos have been deleted.
