How Fernando Alonso quit F1 and returned better than ever in 2021 | F1 Insight

Fernando Alonso will be driving in F1 for Alpine again in 2022. 2005 and 2006 F1 champion Alonso has looked back to his best this year and this video we look why he left F1 in 2018, after several uncompetitive seasons with McLaren. We also go through his frustrations at Ferrari and Renault, as well as his time away from F1, including attempts at the Indy 500, the Dakar Rally and the World Endurance Championship with Toyota.
The Alonso of 2021 has appeared a far calmer character off track, with none of his trademark radio messages, like the GP2 Engine comment in Japan. Alonso's battle with Lewis Hamilton at the Hungarian Grand Prix was one of the highlights of the 2021 F1 season and he's been a regular point scorer and consistently been brilliant at the start.
