Touring Montmartre - Looking Out Over Paris

The Montmartre section of Paris has a rich history. From the mid nineteenth to early twentieth centuries it was home to some of the greatest artists who ever lived. Montmartre, which means "hill of the martyr" is the highest point in Paris and offers spectacular views of the city. The most prominent feature today is the Basilica of Sacre Coeur. Artists still fill Place du Tertre where visitors can stop for a glass of wine or a crepe.
