Fork Creek Mill – Winch Drive Sprocket Installation on a Timberking 1400 mill
Winches can be used to power several of the functions on a band saw mill that does not have full hydraulics. While full hydraulics is always a better option it can be more expensive. This video goes over three different style of winches and how I went about attaching a drive sprocket to the hub of the winch.
00;00;00;00 Chapter 1 Introduction
00;00;44;15 Chapter 2 Utility Winch
00;06;09;12 Chapter 3 Badland ZXR 3500 Sprocket Installation
00:09;24;16 Chapter 4 Apex 5500 Winch Sprocket Installation
This is not a how to video and is for entertainment only as it just shows what I am doing with my mill. Remember you are responsible for your own safety. All rotating equipment should have proper guards at all times. Band saws, power tools and tractors are inherently dangerous and can be extremely dangerous if not operated properly. YOU, the operator, are responsible for the safe operation of the band saw, power tools and tractor. You must carefully read and follow any warnings, safety signs and instructions provided with or located on the band saw power tools or tractor. Do not remove, defeat, deface, or render inoperable any of the safety devices or warnings on the band saw, power tools or tractor. All guidelines for proper setup and use provided by the saw blade manufacturer, power tool manufacturer and band saw manufacturer should be followed. Caution should be taken when using power equipment or tools and all recommended safety precautions from the tool or equipment manufacture should be utilized. It is important to inspect all tools and equipment before each use for condition and that all safety equipment is functioning. Thank
