Why The Name Burkina Faso?
After the partition of Africa, the kingdoms in the region of present day Burkina Faso were invaded and carved up by French colonists, becoming a french protectorate in 1896 and named Haute Volta, translated to French Upper Volta. So how and why did it change to Burkina Faso?
