Curious How Mozambique Got its Name?

What comes to mind when you hear the word Mozambique?

Is it the fact that it is the only country in the world to have all five vowels in its name, or the fact that it is one of the only two commonwealth countries with no historic ties to Britain, or the fact that it is one of the 3 countries in the world whose flags have a firearm? Well, while all these trivia questions are interesting, the main thing that comes to my mind is really, how did Mozambique get its name, what does it mean and maybe what other names did it have in its history?
