Two 1925 songs played by Rube Bloom on a newly-restored foot-pump player piano
This very large 58” 1910 J&C Fischer foot-pumped upright player piano was just completed at Historic Pianos. The 113-year-old piano is mostly original, but required extensive action repair and regulation. The player is an early double-valve Autopiano/Standard mechanism that required full restoration with new fabric, leather and tubing. It plays very responsively and expressively. The roll is a reproducing Duo-Art recut of two 1925 songs played by Rube Bloom, but here heard only with foot-pumped expression control. The selections are “Lonesome” and “I’m Gonna Charleston Back To Charleston.”
