Victor Arden Plays "Don't Tell Her What's Happened To Me" and "Lonesome Lover"

Pianist Lewis John Fuiks (1893-1962) used the stage name "Victor Arden", and under that name recorded many Ampico rolls. Here he plays two pop songs from the early 1930s. "Don't Tell Her What's Happened To Me" is a fox-trot composed by Ray Henderson, with lyrics by Buddy DeSilva and Lew Brown, and issued in November 1930 as Ampico roll # 213041. The 1931 waltz "Lonesome Lover" was composed by Jimmie Monaco with lyrics by Al Bryan, and issued in March 1931 as Ampico # 213311.

The instrument is a 5'8" walnut 1929 model RA Mason & Hamlin Ampico B, with the player completely restored at Historic Pianos in 2020, along with significant action repair and regulation. Please visit www.historicpianos.com.
