"By The Seashore" Op. 17 by Smetana played by Marguerite Volavy on Welte
This is a Welte Mignon piano roll recording by Bohemian pianist Marguerite Volavy (1886-1951) playing "By The Seashore", Concert Etude in G# minor Op. 17 by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884). This roll # C-6964 was issued January 1925, and is heard here on a 6'2" 1921 Baldwin Welte Mignon Licensee instrument, restored in early 2020 at Historic Pianos. Baldwin was the premier piano brand commonly fitted with Welte Licensee reproducing player actions, and larger Welte instruments like this were less common than smaller grands.
