A bunch of neurons
CUDA based spiking neural network.
This simulation has been organized in three steps: the first builds in host memory the neurons and seeks the potential synapses (based on the distance of two segments).
The second step copies the data representing the network on the device memory while
the third step runs the network on the GPU.
This is a little network composed of 128 neurons each consisting of 128 segments (the soma is a segment too). The neuron model has been built by me and the current conduction is based on the passive cable conduction.
This network has been stimulated with various patterns:
- random direct soma input
- random dendrites input
- whole soma input (at the same time)
- single neuron soma input (to detect if adjacent postsynaptic neurons did fire)
The network exhibits patterns formation and pattern modification depending on the input given.
The colors represent the voltage:
-65V blue
-55V red (beginning of the spike)
-5V yellow
+35V white (spike top)
