Mrs. Muir and the Ghost quoting Keats
The ghost of a seaman (Rex Harrison) haunts the house he lived in, initially disturbing the new owner Mrs. Muir (Gene Tierney). In this scene, we see that they start to like each other, the ghost tells Mrs. Muir how he built the house echoing the Keats' verses in Ode to a Nightingale:
"Charm'd magic casements, opening on the foam
Of perilous seas, in faery lands forlorn. "
In doing so, he reveals that under his rudeness there is a romantic temperament, something Mrs. Muir appreciates.
