How are tropical storms measured - the Saffir-Simpson Scale explained #shorts #gcse #geography

The Saffir-Simpson scale is used to measure the intensity of tropical storms, and is based on wind speed. There are five categories - with category 5 being the most intense. Category 5 features wind speeds above 252km/h, category 4 from 209-251km/h, category 3 from 178-208km/h, category 2 from 154-177km/h and category 1 from 119-153km/h.
