Easier Than the Circle of Fifths - Episode 12 - Mr V's Guitar Journ(ey)

This week's episode is all about learning and memorizing the Perfect Fifths and Fourths by using a simplified Circle of Fifths. It also has us practicing the minor pentatonic scale vertically on the D and G strings. Moving up and down the length of the fretboard on E and A. We will sing the scale degrees (root, bIII, IV, V, bVII) and the notes (if you're practicing in Gm like me, then your notes will be: G, Bb, C, D, F). Also, we will continue memorizing where the G note is located on the fretboard and remembering the octave patterns. Let's do this!

This week when you are noodling or improvising licks and solos, make sure you only focus on playing the minor pentatonic notes on the low E and A strings!

As in previous episodes, for this week put yourself to sleep thinking/dreaming about minor pentatonic. Visualize it, and mentally go up and down the strings (and patterns) until you fall asleep. Try imagining each tone pitch as you mentally travel around your dreamy fretboard!
