Independent Clauses - Easy English Grammar

Independent Clauses - Identify and understand what an Independent Clause is. Independent Clauses are sentence structures that can stand alone, be one part of a compound sentence joined by a coordinate conjunction or semi-colon, or part of another more complex sentence. They contain a subject and a verb, and can be a statement or question. They can be a noun clause and modify other sentence structures. If they are a complete sentence, they begin with a capital letter and end with some form of end punctuation; either a period, question mark, or exclamation point. They can contain adjective and adverb modifiers and phrases such as prepositional phrases and participial phrases.
