PM is being controlled by a ‘bunch of faceless men and women’: Matt Canavan
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is being controlled by a group of “faceless men and women” following the Voice defeat.
The Voice to Parliament referendum was defeated with 60 per cent of the population voting No.
“We think as a country that we are electing a prime minister at every election, you’d expect that prime minister to be the one making decisions but here we have a leader of the Labor Party – it’s harking back to a previous area,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“As you’ve pointed out that it seems to be there are a bunch of faceless men and women – backroom men and women who are going to tell our prime minister what to do.
“These people are of course unelected, the backroom boys and girls here – telling the prime minister what to do, and whatever they do tell the prime minister, he now has no mandate to proceed with a treaty.”
