2 Italian Words with HIDDEN DOUBLE Meanings

Get TWO Italian words for the price of one 🤯

Here are 2 everyday Italian words I bet you didn’t know had a double meaning!

Next on our list is 1. “Cornetto.” This word is the translation for a delicious pastry, but can also mean “little horn.” If you have ever visited Naples, you have seen for sure the red cornettos all over the city. The next time you see a twisted horn-shaped object in Italy, remember that it’s not always edible.

Moving on, we have 2. “Chiacchiere.” Now, this word might sound like it’s related to chatting or gossiping, right? Well, you’re partially correct! “Chiacchiere” indeed means “chatter” or “small talk,” but it’s also the name of a popular Italian Carnival pastry. It’s a crispy, fried treat covered in powdered sugar. So, next time someone mentions “chiacchiere,” they might be inviting you to indulge in a sweet conversation or a sweet treat!
