The Birth of Nixon | A Powerful Birth Center Birth of Their Big Baby

It was at the end of the day when I got the call to head to Lauren. I was super stoked and couldn't wait to be with this incredible family and birth team. I arrived and labor wasn't yet super intense, but I didn't mind. I'd much rather get there early than too late! We all left the room and gave Lauren and her husband some alone time. Pretty soon, we started to hear more vocal sounds so we made our way in. She was definitely in the thick of it! She stood, rocked, walked, forward leaned, lied down, and then made her way to the tub. The moments here just pure love. Lauren and her husband connecting so well. Lauren's midwife then made the suggestion to head to the bed. We later found out she did this in case of a shoulder dystocia (which Lauren had experienced with her older son and it did happen here as well). Baby Nixon needed some assistance to be born and Lauren's midwife did an excellent job at doing so. He was born and started crying soon after. I sure do love my job!
