8. Lays

Lays recently unveiled their new bigger size bag of potato chips. While they may look huge when sitting next to one of those 99 cent bags of Lay’s, they actually seem to be nothing more than at best a medium sized bag of chips when you compare them to any other bag of Lay’s. Add to this the fact that the bags are half air to begin with and you have an underwhelming new bigger size.

7. Chocolate Cheerios

When you hear that a food item may reduce the risk of heart disease you have to take it with a grain of salt. Just the word “may” means that the company is holding themselves to no promises. As a matter of fact food labels could say that you MAY wake up tomorrow with the ability to fly. But if you don’t then you can look back and realize that nothing was guaranteed. General Mills came under heavy scrutiny when they started putting a heart icon on the front of their Chocolate Cheerios boxes inscribed with the aforementioned suspect phrase. While regular cheerios certainly have soluble oat fibers that can legitimately reduce the risk of heart disease Chocolate Cheerios do not. And according to a study done on over thirty thousand Swedish women it’s unhealthy for your heart to eat chocolate more than three times a month.

6. Heinz Ketchup

Heinz Ketchup, and so many other products often come with a label that states that they come with reduced sugar or that they are sugar free. This is likely true, these products often replace sugar with artificial sweeteners like sucralose. While the packaging isn’t an outright lie it's certainly using the stigma behind sugar to make a misleading label. Artificial sweeteners come with their own list of negative health effects that often make regular products and their normal sugar a better choice.

5. 100% Juice

Saying this is 100% juice is a 100% lie and even the makers of the product can’t conceal the 27% truth. Just one more reason to always check the nutrition facts on the back of packaged food.

4. Cocoa Krispies

Cereal seems to be one of the biggest offenders of misleading and false food labels. Kellogg’s added to this reputation in 2010 when they started claiming that Cocoa Krispies helps support your child’s immunity. This label conveniently ignores the fact that the product is almost half sugar by weight and contains trans-fat, two nutrition facts that wouldn’t bode well for your child’s, or anyone’s immunity.

3. Panda Ice Cream

The folks making this ice cream bar got a little too ambitious when they decided on the packaging. They probably should have just called it a mysterious ice cream blob because whatever that is doesn’t bare any resemblance to a panda.

2. Raisin Bran Crunch

Since 1966 the giant sun character aptly named Sunny has promised the millions of people who consume Raisin Bran Crunch that the whole grain cereal comes with two giant scoops of raisins in every box. Someone with a lot of free time took each and every raisin out of a box of the popular breakfast item and found that there isn’t as many raisins as Sunny would want you to believe. The amount of raisins pulled out of the box couldn’t even fill one scoop. Either Sunny has been lying to everyone for the past half century or like an ant in a microscope is much smaller than he appears.

1. Beck’s

Beck’s touts itself as a beer of German quality, and its price is often comparable to other imported beers. There’s one small problem with this, Beck’s has been brewed in St. Louis, Missouri since 2012, a place that, at last check isn’t in Germany. Beck’s drinkers filed a lawsuit pointing this out in 2013 and the suit was settled in 2015 for 20 million dollars. Anheuser-Busch was forced to make cash payments to people with proof that they had purchased the product at retail outlets. People that filed claims through a website through November 20, 2015 were in line to receive up to a fifty dollar refund.
