Coolest Conceptualized Architecture

With the concept of indoor ski resorts being actualized, it seems that creating artificial snowy settings is never out of the question. Architect Andrew Bromberg has proposed for a sledding area, in the form of a strip that would surround the outside of the Beijing Civic Center. When it’s winter time, the path would be covered with fake snow, even though snow does occur in Beijing, the fake snow would just ensure that sledding would be offered all the time in the winter. The civic center is part of a 30 year masterplan located in the Beijing’s business district, so why not top it off with some sledding anyway?

5. Kofun Japan National Stadium
Even before that cool preview played at the Rio Olympics, people have been excitedly awaiting the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. A competition was held for the design of the New National Stadium in Japan, and the Kofun Japan National Stadium was one of the entrants. The Kofun Stadium would be located in the heart of Tokyo, and would implement an eco-friendly approach. Instead of the traditional colosseum structure to the outside of a stadium, there would be a mound of green earth surrounding the outside.
4. Floating Swimming Pool at Nine Elms
This floating pool is part of plans for Nine Elms in London. The pool is said to be suspended over 10 storeys between two buildings which are meant for housing and is supposed to be the first sky pool of its kind in the world. The elevated body of water would be 90 ft long and located in the district of Nine Elms near the American Embassy. The sky pool, along with the whole structure, is said to be completed by the summer of 2019.
3. Endless City
Intended to be a mixed use facility, Endless City by company SURE Architecture would stand at 300 meters high and is pretty much a vertical city. With the over population happening in many major cities anyway, upwards would be the only way to move eventually. The design by the Chinese architecture firm was done for the SuperSkyScrapers Awards and would include all the typical things a city would have: schools, offices, shopping, housing, and even parks.
2. Skyscraper That Hangs Off Asteroids
As far as concept art goes, this is definitely more concept than actually close to being made, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. This is called the Analemma and would be the tallest building ever--technically it wouldn’t even be the tallest skyscraper ever since it would be coming from the sky. Strapped to an asteroid, the Analemma would constantly be moving since an asteroid would just be floating in space. Plus, it’s said that solar panels would be its source of energy. What else?
Testlab Moontopia
Over half a century ago, the idea of actually going into space was a feat in itself. Of course, if the history of mankind has taught you anything, it’s that humans will stop at nothing to explore and colonize. Such is the premise behind Testlab, architectural concepts designed to be incorporated on surfaces in outer space. Testlab was designed for the Moontopia contest for space architecture, winning first place. The idea behind it is to gradually settle onto the moon, adding these geometric, igloo shaped structures that interconnect and would, hypothetically, be large and sustaining enough for humans to inhabit.
