Prokofiev 'Romeo & Juliet' - Balcony Scene & Farewell - William Walker & Jayne Regan

Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" contains some of the finest ballet music ever written and here we have two particularly evocative examples. Romeo has fallen in love with Juliet at the Capulet's Ball and woos her in the Balcony Scene which follows. Then comes the morning of their Farewell following their wedding night. These two scenes come from the Northern Ballet Theatre's 1992 production and feature William Walker as Romeo and Jayne Regan as Juliet, with Hayley Tognetti making a brief appearance as the Nurse. The music is played by the BBC Philharmonic, conductor Francis Rainey. These excerpts are presented as a kind of 'memento' of the production with all due acknowledgements to the Northern Ballet Theatre.
