Tchaikovsky 'Swan Lake' - Stokowski conducts highlights
In 1954-55, Stokowski made several excellent recordings with the NBC Symphony, concurrent with Toscanini's retirement from that orchestra. One LP consisted of an hour's music from 'Swan Lake', one of the greatest ballet scores ever composed. Here are three numbers from Act 2, superbly played and recorded in a first-rate transfer on a 'Cala' Records CD (CACD0543). An essential CD for any Tchaikovsky collection!
