Armor Penetration Simulation part 3

90mm T33 AP at 800m/s vs 80mm armor with high shear resistance at 55 degrees.

This is a continuation of my research to simulate realistic penetration of thick, sloped armor. Ultimately, I would like to achieve the effect of the famous test against the german Panther tank. It's been a while since previous parts, but among other videos I've been working on it all the time. The effect of this work is a three-piece projectile, which is supposed to simulate different hardness in different areas. Looking at the results I still have a lot of work to do, because according to real tests the projectile should penetrate such armor. It did not penetrate because there was no shearing (otherwise called plugging or punching), which requires less energy to overcome the armor.
For comparison, 8.8cm pzgr 39 according to US Army tests reached penetration of 85mm armor at 55 degrees at 1012m/s. It is possible that due to the more pointed tip construction there were no conditions for the occurrence of shearing, which could show how much energy is required to penetrate armor with standard ductile hole mechanism.
