50 mm KwK 38 L/42 muzzle velocity - 685 m/s. 540 m/s refers to a distance of approximately 0.65 km.

The only difference from the previous simulation was the higher stress limit in the nose area of the projectile.
I can say that the Germans, at least at the beginning of the war, had to have exceptionally good hardening methods in order for their shells to pass acceptance tests.
