1930s Disney Villainess Evil Queen Makeup Transformation - Cosplay, Dress Up & Fancy Dress
While this *is* a costume makeup look, it is also a historical look! Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released in 1938, and the 1930s makeup aesthetic is all over this look. Only a stage actress would have worn something this elaborate, but a live actress in full costume and makeup was indeed used as a reference for many images of the Evil Queen.
If you’ve ever complained on my other videos “but you didn’t do the eyebrows like [actress]!” you see here the reason why — convincing coverup of dark eyebrows on light skin is nearly impossible. Count how many laters of liquid and powder concealer went to hide the brows as much as they are! But I’m sure I’m not alone in my unwillingness to shave my eyebrows for a single costume appearance, so other interested parties, take note!
I don’t usually like to do transformation/contour looks because other people won’t have to do the same contour that I do -- face shapes are all different. This look took almost 2 hours to assemble, and a lot of that was spent on nose contour, trying to make a bulbous, irregular and crooked nose resemble the Queen’s dainty schnoz.
Dedicated to W.A. Mozart, a celebrity who has the same difficult to contour nose! (See his portraits!) The music in this video is the Overture to the Magic Flute, in a public domain recording from Musopen.
