A genuine 1970s eyeshadow look -- "Watercolor Eyes." Palettes used to be sold with the three colors.
Some ladies who were reminiscing about this look supposed that the idea was that the eyeshadow should look like an impressionist painting, hence the name.

You might notice some similarity to the Flapper look shown in my old Gibson Girls video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KMFftI3MrM -- in 70s glam there was a nostalgia for that old style, which was only 40 to 50 years in the past at the time (basically, what 70s makeup is to us!)
