Eric Burdon, Cliff Richard, Jimmy Page, Deep Purple talk

Interview excerpts from 2 "Good Rockin' Tonite" shows taped in 1987 and 1991, host Stu Jeffries reminisces with British legendary performers Eric Burdon followed by Cliff Richard. Also clips with Jon Lord of Deep Purple. and Jimmy Page of the Yardbirds.

Eric Burdon and the Animals had a string of hits following House of the Rising Sun in 1964 including Baby Let Me Take You Home, Boom Boom, Bring It On Home to Me, We Gotta Get Out of this Place, It’s My Life, Don’t Bring Me Down and See See Rider

John Lennon said “Before Cliff Richard and the Shadows, there had been nothing worth listening to in British music.” Cliff was England’s first rock ‘n roller and Move It was his 1st hit followed by Living Doll Cliff has had 67 UK Top 10 Singles and 14 #1 hits! He has sold 250 million records, and is the 3rd Top Selling artist in UK singles behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

Jon Lord of Deep Purple formed in 1968 which, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies.” Biggest hit? Smoke on the Water.

Jimmy Page of The Yardbirds dormed in 1963 known for starting the careers of two other of rock's most famous guitarists, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Hits throughout the mid-1960s, including "For Your Love", "Heart Full of Soul", "Shapes of Things" and "Over Under Sideways Down".
