How Colorism impacted my life | Luca Rivera | TEDxDixwell

Luca's topic on Colorism explores his personal journey and how he has experienced the impact of colorism in his life and how it ultimately led him to discover and embrace his true beauty. Colorism, a form of discrimination based on skin color within a particular racial or ethnic group, has played a significant role in shaping their self-esteem and self-image. Through their experiences, they have come to realize that true beauty transcends skin color and have learned to appreciate and love themselves for who they are, irrespective of societal prejudices. This journey is a powerful testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of self-acceptance in the face of external biases. Luca Rivera is presently a senior at James Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut, with aspirations of building a career in the fashion industry.
