During our trip to LA we linked up at Ye Ali’s house to finally talk. Arshan and Ye have been following each other on Instagram for a while, and Arshan is super into r&b. If you don’t know Ye Ali, he’s an r&b artist/rapper behind songs like Right Time, Dangerous, and his Traphouse Jodeci projects. We talked about his come up growing up in Indiana, managing artists and doing anything he could to get his foot in the music industry. At one point he ran Instagram pages and shot content for Eric Bellinger and Fetty Wap. He talks about how his artist career got a little tricky because he got into a situation where someone in the music industry blackballed him, which lead him to learning how to produce and making sure whoever blackballed him had to end up paying for his beats. Ye has credits on Chris Brown songs, Jack Harlow + more. Ye Ali also explains the difference in come up between an r&b artist and a rapper in 2021.
