Spain: Madrid police raid suspected drug clan properties

The National Police raided the Kikos clan, an organisation that allegedly control the sale of drugs in Madrid's Canada Real Galiana, on Monday.

Footage distributed by the police shows the moment in which the agents carried out a raid in a house which is located in an area with the highest level of drug sales in the Spanish capital.

According to the police, the operation resulted in 15 arrests, from which €520,000 ($612,762) in cash, jewellery, 19 kilos (14 lbs) of cocaine, almost three kilos (6 lbs) of hashish and heroin, 18 weapons and almost 2,000 rounds of ammunition, were seized.

Police also reported that this clan succeeded the Los Gordos gang, of whom they are relatives.

The home in which the raid took place had extensive security measures, including security cameras and armoured doors. Reportedly, upon noticing the presence of the agents, those arrested tried to set fire to the house to destroy evidence.
