Title I teacher started her own non-profit to bring underprivileged children joy

A marketing specialist turned Title I teacher turned entrepreneur is making waves by providing underprivileged children with joy.

When Katie found her marketing in job uninspiring, she decided to switch careers and became a teacher at a Title I school in Charleston, South Carolina. But when a student told her he didn’t own a bike, she couldn’t believe it. Some of her fondest childhood memories revolved around her riding her bike. She embarked on a journey to get all 650 students at her school bikes.

Little did she know, her mission would turn into another life path of providing underprivileged children with joy by founding the non-profit, Going Places.
