Typhoon Mangkhut Landfall Update - 4am PHT Sept 15, 2018
Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong) made landfall in the province of Cagayan at around 2:10am PHT, and is now moving through the Cagayan valley. The storm is expected to enter the South China Sea, and could still be a major typhoon as it heads towards Hong Kong, Macau, and the coast of China. Mangkhut made landfall at Stage 10 on the CDPS, the highest possible rating and joins ranks with only a handful of storms known to achieve this devastating feat.
