The 2005 season featured two Category 5 storms - Haitang and Nabi.

The deadliest cyclone was Typhoon Talim, which killed 138. At $2.2 billion, Matsa was the costliest storm. It was the most destructive storm, affecting 259,000 buildings. Typhoon Haitang dumped 1561mm of rainfall, the highest of the season.
