2021 Pacific Typhoon Season Animation

The 2021 Pacific Typhoon Season was overall a below average season for the Western Pacific. In the early part of the year, the basin began with a bang with powerful Surigae reaching category 5 intensity in April. Throughout the remainer of the year, the season consisted of several tropical storm and some of which did go on to become typhoons, however it would be until September for the Western Pacific to produce its next Super Typhoon, that storm of course being Chanthu, and shortly after Mindulle came along to become the third super typhoon of the season. The season quieted down a bit after September similarly to the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific basins, but the Western Pacific had one final blow to end off the season, in the form of Super Typhoon Rai which devastated many areas within the Philippines in Mid-December.
