Marinara Using Fresh Garden Tomatoes
Making marinara sauce with fresh garden tomatoes is easy and delicious
I recommend purchasing an immersion blender for this recipe. You'll find many uses for it and they're very affordable now. Here's a link where you can purchase one: http://amzn.to/2d4MbeR
Ingredients:
4 or 5 cloves of garlic minced
I used about 2 lbs of fresh tomatoes from my garden…you can double or even triple this recipe if you like
About 20 to 30 leaves of fresh garden basil
1/4 to a 1/2 cup of red wine, you can also use chicken stock
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp pf pepper
and a pinch of crushed red pepper (optional)
Chop to tomatoes and basil. In a pot add 4 or 5 TBS of olive oil, add garlic and let cook until fragrant. Add the chopped tomatoes and basil, salt and peppers and wine and cook for 20 minutes uncovered on low heat.
After minutes use immersion blender and blend to the consistency that you like. Once it’s blended let cook slightly covered on low heat for about 1 to 2 hours until it gets to the consistency that you like. Taste to see if you need more salt and pepper.
Serve and Enjoy ♥
