Conversation 056: Berlin based artistic duo Hackedepicciotto
True Bohemians are rare these days. But the Berlin based duo Danielle de Picciotto and Alexander Hacke are exactly that, bohemian artists of lore, living a true nomadic life in which we younger artists only dream of.
The late 80’s Berlin was a heady time. Political tensions were still high, and the wall had yet to fall. It was 1987 when Danielle decided to pick up from NY and move to Berlin. This was the backdrop in which Alexander and Danielle met within the confines of the small artisan community that included Nick Cave and the Bad seeds.
It was in such a time in which living in warehouses, parties, fluid love affairs, and experimental art consumed all.
A backdrop which set the stage for an eventual marriage in 2006 and a prolific 20 plus year musical and artistic career that continues to this day.
This is Hackedepicciotto.
So, please enjoy #56 one of my more fluid conversations to date.
