Conversation 009: Ben Lanz and Kyle Resnick

There are few if any, contemporary Horn Players and Multi-Instrumentalists, that have left a larger footprint on what we now recognize as the modern indie sound, than the duo of Ben Lanz & Kyle Resnick.

Yes, that Ben Lanz & Kyle Resnick, currently of The National, Beirut, and in the past have toured with artists such as Sufjan Stevens, paired with collaborations with basically every major indie band in the early 2000’s.

The two musical savants knew early on that music was their destiny, it was just in their blood, although both discovered themselves in the midst of the indie scene through completely different paths.
During these years capturing contemporary music with the lens, I’ve been fortunate enough to befriend the two musically attuned masters and all round good souls.
In conversation 009, we chat music, sports, creativity and more. Spanning across continents, (Ben being in France at the moment), and albeit with some minor interruptions, I was grateful to finally have a chance to sit down with the twohumble giants of indie.
