One of the most modern creations in my collection today. A delightful tiara that hides some secrets in its versatility.

Designed in the Art Deco style, this tiara was made in 2015. It includes a series of graduated diamond palmette motifs topped by a set of graduated pear-shaped emeralds.

The Swedish royal court stated that the tiara was a gift from King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia to Princess Sofia at the time of the wedding in June 2015 and was converted from a necklace.

The wedding of Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland, and Sofia Hellqvist took place on 13 June 2015 at Slottskyrkan (Royal Chapel) a church located inside the Palace in Stockholm.

In 2016, it was reported that the necklace was originally a private gift from a Thai prince to Queen Silvia, and that it was sent to a Thai jeweller for conversion to a tiara (so that the gift would remain a secret) before being gifted to Sofia.

In November 2017, Princess Sofia wore the tiara for the first time with the frame opened up and the emeralds removed leaving only the diamonds. It appeared to have a different frame which curved to fit the head in a softer way.

She replaced the emeralds with pearls temporarily, demonstrating the flexibility of the tiara. It can be worn with only the diamonds or with emeralds, pearls, or as seen in December 2019 with turquoise toppers.
