Rookie Grant Hill - 33 Points, 16 Rebounds, 8 Assists vs. Celtics (1995)
March 25, 1995 - Grant Hill, the No. 3 overall pick out of Duke, averaged 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists during his rookie campaign. His 33-point, 16-rebound, 8-assist performance against the Boston Celtics came in the midst of a 21-game stretch to end the season in which he pumped his production up to a 24.7-point, 8.8-rebound, and 6.2-assist pace, a sign of things to come.
Hill was named an all-star starter during each season in Detroit (not including the lockout-shortened 1999 season, which had no All-Star Game) before leaving for Orlando in 2000. Agreeing to a sign-and-trade instead of leaving outright, Hill's departure allowed the Pistons to land Chucky Atkins and Ben Wallace in return.
