Christopher Plummer

REVISED Christopher Plummer (1929-2021) was born in Toronto and raised in Montreal, where he first attracted notice in high-school plays. He appeared at Brae Manor near Montreal and the Montreal Repertory Theatre, later working at the Canadian Repertory Theatre in Ottawa and Jupiter Theatre in Toronto. He played leading roles at the Stratford Festival for six seasons between in the 1050s and ’60s, and went on to star with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre, and on Broadway (Tony awards 1974 and 1997). His enormously successful film career included The Sound of Music, The Last Station, and Beginners (Academy Award, 2011).
